Writing

Last December 22, I attended a book launch by a friend. Putting aside the hobnobbing with all these people from the higher echelons of Singapore society and the oh so great Fullerton Hotel food, I had some time to think about my own aspirations for writing.

I know I am not a good writer. I still clearly remember when I sort of did not pass the Qualifying English Test during my freshmen year, a first for Filipinos in NUS. It was really embarrassing. I think I did well for the grammar part but really messed up the writing part.

I have a problem with being coherent in my writing. As it is, I find it difficult to do so within posts, doing so across posts is much more difficult. A lot of people have misread my posts in the past few years of my blog's existence and so have I in reading other people's posts. I hope I could give more thought when I'm writing so that when people ask me about what I wrote, I could actually stand up for them and not just serve as an outlet of random puffs of the mind.

Although I don't see myself writing a fiction book, I think I'll be able to publish a non-fiction book by age 50.
