Memories

I was about to write something about the dust in the air making the night sky extremely bright, but I realized I've written something about that already.

I just finished watching the first episode of Dollhouse which is about wiping out memories of people and implanting them with dead people's memories so that they could perform specific tasks for specific missions. It's something similar to the movie "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind".

I wish I could just wipe out selected memories. But I guess memories make us what we are. Those happy childhood moments or those sad depressing times contribute to how we react to future events.

Memories make our actions have consequences. If everyone were like goldfishes, we don't have to worry about how we treat other people now because they'll probably forget soon enough. Vengeance and gratitude are both by-products of having a memory.

We could decide to let go of people or to move on with our lives but it is certainly difficult to totally erase memories from our minds.
